Greg MACQUERON (MS MIT 2008)
How did your relationship with your mentees develop?
It was a wonderful experience. As a coach myself now, I can see the real value in mentoring. With Milan, our monthly meetings allowed us to work on his career plans, his search for an internship in finance, and also to resolve certain personal issues. With Samuela, our meetings were more sporadic but focused, working on organization, time management tools, and decision-making.
What touched you the most about this experience?
It's great when you see in the students' eyes that something has clicked, and there have been several such moments. Our discussions taught me a lot, and their feedback touched me, reinforcing my desire to continue mentoring. I am very happy to have been able to help and to give back to the school what it has given me.
Would you be willing to repeat the experience?
Yes, as long as I can help others, especially within the framework of TBS Education. I firmly believe that we are here on earth to pass on our knowledge. Passing on knowledge is a way of being useful, both for students and for the school. So, see you at the next edition of the TBS Alumni mentoring program!

Milan TALBOT (MiM 2028)
How did mentoring help you in your career?
Mentoring helped me ask myself the right questions about myself and what I really wanted to do in my career, and put into words the thoughts and problems I was facing. It was also a significant asset in finding my internship.
What did you learn from your mentor?
Thanks to Greg, I learned how to sell myself and promote myself to recruiters in order to stand out from other candidates. I perfected my resume to make it more impactful. I also learned the most effective way to get an internship, a work-study program, or a job, which is to call a large number of people and follow up with them every week. I believe this last point is fundamental to my future career.
What advice would you give to a student who wants to join this program?
You need to prepare in advance what you want to discuss with your mentor and what you expect from them so that the meeting is as rewarding as possible. The mentoring program is rich in professional knowledge and is just the beginning of a long-term relationship with a TBS Education Alumni
